It’s really important to us that our students are inspired by their tutors. So, we only employ professional musicians who are experienced in tutoring students of all abilities. We know that engaged students learn better so the quality of our tuition is fundamental to the success of our new Rock School. So without further adieu, let’s meet the team…

 

 

 

Ash Howard is one of our Session Managers and a Drum Tutor. He’s toured America and worked with the Libertines amongst many others. Ash has been a private tutor for 12 years and has some superstar students you might recognise if you follow our feeds. He’s passionate about teaching the drums and has a massive waiting list for lessons

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tom McCarthy is one of our Guitar Tutors, he’s toured around the world, written and recorded music that has featured on national radio and played at some of the biggest festivals in the UK.

 

Tom has been teaching privately for over 10 years, his students adore him and his reputation has brought new students to our school already.

 

 

 

 

Rob is our resident Vocal Coach, he’s well known on the Essex and Suffolk music scene. Rob embodies our approach because he can sing, play the guitar and write songs, that means he can share all that experience with our students who want to try everything!

 

You can catch Rob in  Suffolk bands, Colourblind Hedgehogs, Stetsons Are Cool,  and Class Act as well as performing solo acoustic as The Last Gunfighter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rayna Vandel teaches our students Drums. He’s been a professional drummer for 15 years and is also a bit of a social media star, which of course our students love! He’s got experience in gigging, touring, writing, recording and teaching so our students are lucky to have him.

 

When students talk about Rayna they always use the word inspiring which is exactly what we want to do.

 

 

 

 

 

Harley Cotton is our Bass Tutor. He’s been playing and teaching professionally for over 10 years and has toured with some fantastic bands and musicians across Europe.

 

This evening I booked a young student onto our course to continue learning Bass with Harley and her mum said she was literally jumping up and down on the spot to be able to learn with him again… that’s the kind of tutor we want!

 

 

 

 

Josh Locke is one of our Guitar Tutors. He’s been studying music throughout his life (Grade 8 at 18 years old!) and it’s really paid off. Josh has played Glastonbury for the last three years and regularly sells out crowds across the UK with his band J.S & the Lockerbillies.

 

Josh is an experienced songwriter and has played in bands from pop-punk to funk, from rockabilly to heavy metal, gypsy jazz, pirate sea shanties, you name it he can play it.
